I created a restore point. When I checked the message is there are no restore points created. What is the path/directory where restore points are located? I wanted to save it to a flash drive in case it happens again.

According to the replies in this link it is not possible to use system restore points when saved to another disk:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/create-system-restore-on-different-drive/fa4c07f9-2c2b-4f7e-bc9d-a4750dd09657#:~:text=System%20Restore%20images%20can't,case%20Windows%20ever%20becomes%20irreparable.

If you find a method to save restore points to another disk and then use the system restore data when it is needed please comment into this thread.

    Hi @Tina Mills ,

restore points are stored in the System Volume Information folder on each drive. For instance C:\System Volume Information.
If you don't see the folder in Windows Explorer you should change the view options:
Folder Option -> View -> Uncheck Hide protected operating system files and check Show hidden files, folders and drives

    ----------

    For restore points see:

    https://www.thewindowsclub.com/where-are-system-restore-points-stored-how-to-view
    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4571-create-system-restore-point-windows-10-a.html

    Restore points are often unreliable.

To protect important files consider making free or pay backup images.
