    An old 56k modem connection would be slow, but should still be enough. Timing of updating shouldn't make a lot of difference. The middle of the night for you would still be business hours for someone else in another part of world.

    Answer 1: 4-5 GB of Internet is sufficient, IMO.

    Answer 2: This documentation enlists upgrade blocks for V2004: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-information/status-windows-10-2004. If these blocks are not related to you anyway, you can upgrade right now.
