Automatic data transformations

Databricks transforms Salesforce data types to Delta-compatible data types as follows:

Note

The Salesforce API returns three fields as double instead of int: Site.DailyBandwidthUsed, Site.DailyRequestTimeUsed, and Knowledge__kav.Attachment__Length__s. Databricks ingests each as Double.

Compound fields

Salesforce compound field types (address and location) aren't ingested as a single column. Instead, Databricks ingests the individual component fields that make up each compound field as separate columns.

For example:

• For an address compound field (for example, BillingAddress), Databricks ingests its component fields as separate columns, such as BillingStreet, BillingCity, BillingState, BillingPostalCode, BillingCountry, BillingLatitude, and BillingLongitude.
• For a location (geolocation) compound field, Databricks ingests its components: latitude and longitude.

Incremental formula field ingestion
