- Delete a group
Edit group name
Change the name of an existing group.

Select the group you want to edit.
Select Rename group.
Enter a new group name.
Select OK.
Manually assign members to groups
Follow this procedure to add or remove users and devices from an existing assigned group.
If you add or remove a member of a group, the user or device member might experience a change in access or permissions.
These instructions describe how to edit user membership. You can also follow these steps to edit membership for device groups.
Go to Groups.
Select the group you want to assign users to.
Go to Group members > Users.
To assign users:
a. Select Add users.
b. Start typing the name of a user in the search field.
c. Select each user you want to add. Then choose Select. To unassign users:
a. Select the user you want to unassign.
b. Select Remove users.
c. Select Yes to confirm the removal.
Edit dynamic group rules
Adjust dynamic group rules to accommodate new devices, locations, or school years.
Editing existing rules can remove devices or users who were previously members of the group, and can cause them to experience a change in permissions or access.
Go to Groups.
Find the group you want to edit. Don't select the group, but go to its menu (...), and then select Edit group rules.
Edit the rules.
Select Save changes.
Move a group
Move a group to a different position in the group hierarchy. A group's position in the hierarchy determines which settings it inherits from its parent, so moving it can change its scope of settings.
Generally, the higher the position of the group, such as at parent level, the broader its settings.
To move a group, search for and select a group that's already at the level where you want to move. The group you're moving lands at that same level, alongside the group you selected.
For example, if you have a group called 6th Grade with a subgroup called 6th Grade Math, and you want to move 6th Grade Math up to the same level as 6th Grade, search for and select a top-level group such as All Users. 6th Grade Math then moves to the top level alongside All Users and 6th Grade.
Go to Groups and find the group you want to move.
Don't select the group, but go to its menu (...), and then select Move group.
Search for or select a group that is already at the level where you want to move. The group you're moving lands at that same level.
Select OK.
Delete a group
When you delete a device group, apps and settings are removed from the devices that belonged to the group. The devices themselves aren't deleted. When you delete a user group, user members can no longer access assigned apps. The users themselves aren't deleted.
Deleting a group doesn't remove users or devices from Intune management.
Go to Groups.
Find the group you want to delete. At the end of the row, select the More (...) menu.
Select Delete group.
Select Delete to confirm.
