Standard Cache Proxy Topologies
The following sections identify the standard ways that cache proxy servers are configured within a network. Windows Media Services does not directly support implicit proxy.
| Section | Description |
| Single-tiered Proxy | Discusses a client-proxy relationship in which there is only one proxy server. |
| Multi-tiered Proxy | Discusses a client-proxy relationship in which there are multiple bound proxy servers. |
| Explicit Proxy | Discusses a client-proxy scenario in which the client is explicitly bound to the proxy server. |
| Implicit Proxy | Discusses a client-proxy scenario in which the client is unaware of the proxy server but network data is nevertheless sent through the proxy. |
| Reverse Cache Proxy | Discusses the use of reverse proxy servers to balance loads on origin servers. |
