    Hi,

As mentioned above, you can not simultaneously use the Hyper-V role and VMware Workstation within the same Windows Server instance. However, you can run another instance of Windows Server on a Hyper-V virtual machine that can host VMware Workstation nested. That configuration may seem a bit complicated, but it is basically the only option to achieve what you want on the same piece of hardware.

While you may not get excellent performance with nested virtualization, it should be sufficient for testing/lab/learning purposes, which I assume is your case.

In order to easily migrate your virtual machines between two hypervisors, you may use a free V2V Converter: https://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwind-v2v-converter.

Best of luck with your virtualization projects!

    Hi @Hamzah Wahab

It is not possible to use two virtualization technologies on the same server. This will generate conflicts to manage the hardware components of the guest machine.

In my opinion it is better to use Hyper-v on Windows 2022 to create virtual machine because the Vmare workstation is designed to be used on a workstation and not on a server.

    Hi Hamzah Wahab,

Are you using VMWare Workstation Player or Workstation Pro? According to this VMWare doc, you need Workstation Pro of which the version should be 15.5.5 or later.

    Best Regards,
