Hi @SR VSP ,
Generally speaking, you can do the following steps to update your password:
- SharePoint Services:
- Change the password for the service account in the Windows Services console. Look for services related to SharePoint (e.g., “SharePoint Timer Service,” “SharePoint Administration,” etc.). Update the credentials for each service.
- IIS Application Pools:
- Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
- Navigate to the “Application Pools” section.
- Find the application pools associated with your SharePoint web applications.
- Right-click on each pool, select “Advanced Settings,” and update the identity with the new service account credentials.
- SharePoint Central Administration:
- Log in to SharePoint Central Administration with an account that has administrative privileges.
- Go to “Security” > “Configure Managed Accounts.”
- Find the service account and update the password.
- Web Applications:
- For each web application, go to “Manage web applications.”
- Select the web application, click on “User Policy,” and add the new service account with appropriate permissions.
- Search Service Application:
- If you have the Search Service Application configured, update the service account password there as well.
- If you’re using the Secure Store Service, update the credentials for the service account.
- Secure Store Service:
- If you’re using the Secure Store Service, update the credentials for the service account.
- Scheduled Tasks and PowerShell Scripts:
- Review any scheduled tasks or PowerShell scripts that run under the service account. Update the credentials there.
- SQL Server:
- If your SharePoint databases are hosted on a separate SQL Server, update the service account password there too.
- Restart Services and IIS:
- After updating all relevant areas, restart the SharePoint Timer Service and IIS to apply the changes.
- Test:
- Test the functionality of your SharePoint sites and services to ensure everything is working as expected.
Remember to document these changes and communicate them to your team. Also, consider any other customizations or third-party tools that might be using the service account.
