Wrong Icon of the Teams app/list in sidebar

For about a week or two, the icon of the "Teams" app/list in the left sidebar is not showing properly - instead of the original icon, I just get a strange square.

I am using the classic Teams client on Windows 7 x64. I originally thought this issue could be related to the update to the latest version. However, I uninstalled Teams and installed an older build (1.7.00.13456) to check, and the icon is still bad.

I understand the classic client is now no longer supported. Nonetheless, I have never encountered this before and it is visually rather annoying.

I wonder what could be causing this issue?

    Case Title: Wrong Icon of the Teams app/list in sidebar

     

    Issue Symptom: the icon of the "Teams" app/list in the left sidebar is not showing properly - instead of the original icon, I just get a strange square.

     

    Resolution: As Teams is currently migrating to New Teams, Teams Classic may experience some temporary issues. This issue will be automatically fixed after waiting for a while.

    Currently, the classic version of Teams has been discontinued, which may cause some problems. To avoid this problem, we recommend that you upgrade to New Teams.

    You can also try clearing the Teams desktop client cache to see if the problem is solved:
