Our organization would like to share a Kanban Board by utilizing the application Planner on Teams with a vendor. The outside users have been added to Microsoft 365 as guest for our organization. The "Guest" users have limited access to our Share Point for file sharing. I was able to add them to a Channel in Teams; however, they are unable to see the Kanban Board that uses the Planner application. They are able to access "Posts" on teams and make comments etc. Their company utilizes Planner already and have no issues withing their own channels. How can I share our Planner application on the Teams Channel?

To share your Planner application on a Teams channel with guest users, you can follow these steps:

    1. Ensure that Microsoft 365 Groups guest access is enabled for your organization, as Planner builds on this feature.
    2. Add the guest to the group associated with the plan. You can find the group by going to outlook.com, scrolling down to the Groups folder in the Folders pane, and finding your plan name.
    3. The guest will receive a welcome email from the group. If they do not already have a guest account with your organization, they need to accept this invitation to create one.
    4. Guests need to use a specific plan URL to access the plan. The general Planner URL (tasks.office.com) won't work for guests as it does not know which organization they want to sign in to.
    5. Set the appropriate guest permissions for channels in Microsoft Teams. You can do this by selecting Teams on the left side of the app, going to the team name, selecting More options > Manage team, and then Settings > Guest permissions.
    6. Share the channel with the guest users by going to the channel you want to share, selecting More options > Share channel > Share with people, typing their email addresses, and selecting them from the list.

Please note that there are some limitations on what guests can do in Planner, such as not being able to create plans or add other guests¹. Also, ensure that the guest users have the necessary permissions set in Microsoft 365 Groups settings to attach files or links to tasks if needed.

If you've followed these steps and the guest users still cannot see the Kanban Board in the Planner application, it might be a good idea to check if there are any specific settings or restrictions within your organization's Microsoft 365 setup that could be affecting their access.

If there are any misunderstandings, please let me know

    Best regards,

    Hi @EH09

Please contact your admin to set the Microsoft 365 Group guest settings to ensure that Guest group members are allowed to access group content:

In the Microsoft 365 admin center, in the left navigation pane, expand Settings.

    1. Select Org settings.
    2. In the list, select Microsoft 365 Groups.
    3. Ensure that the Let group owners add people outside your organization to Microsoft 365 Groups as guests and Let guest group members access group content check boxes are both checked.
    4. If you made changes, select Save changes.

Also, make sure the Planner tab is added to your team channel.

To troubleshoot issues with inviting guests in Teams, administrators can run a diagnostic tool in the Microsoft 365 admin center to validate that guest access is correctly configured for use in Teams.

a.Select Run Tests below to populate the diagnostic in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

    **Run Tests: Teams Guest Access
    **
b.The test results tell you if the tenant is configured correctly for guest access. If the tenant isn't configured correctly, the diagnostic provides information on what steps to take to address issues with the configuration.
