Delegate Not Receiving Correct Calendar Invites

Please i need your help on this issue.

One of our User lfrankowski is given full permissions to user mhart mailbox and calendar, including delegate permissions.

When a calendar invite is sent to user mhart. The user lfrankowski receives an email that does not indicate the invite is intended for mhart, and therefore it is confusing to her which account is actually getting the calendar invite.

I tested this with another account on the tenant and the other account does not have this issue - it seems to be specific to this manager and delegate.

Based on your description, can I understand that the meeting invitation email received by the delegator does not specify the specific person who is attending the meeting?

According to my tests, the meeting invitation email received by the delegator is shown in the image below, and the specific person who needs to participate in the meeting can be clearly identified in both red boxes.

If that's not the case in the meeting invitation email, you can share a screenshot with me.

If the remaining tenants don't have the issue, you can try re-authorizing the delegate permissions.

Screenshots attached - one is on the manager's machine where there is the expected note that the meeting request was sent to his delegate.

The other is on the delegate's machine, showing that the message stating the invite is intended for the manager is missing, and implying that the inviter directly invited the delegate rather than the manager (untitled2.png).

I tried removing and re-applying the permission directly from the manager's outlook client after turning off the 'shared calendar improvements' option. Still no luck after doing that.

The manager is running classic outlook version 2408 Build 17928.20156 Click-To-Run

The Delegate is running the new outlook,

1.2024.911.200 (Production)

Client version 20240906004.19

WebView2 Version is 128.0.2739.79

Please double-check that the second screenshot you provided is from the delegate and not from the manager in OWA.

After my testing, the meeting invitation email received by the delegator should look like this below in OWA.

The red area is the meeting sponsor, the blue area is the delegator, and the yellow area is the actual participant (the manager).

Yes I can 100% confirm that the second image is taken from the delegator's outlook client. They are not getting the 'received for...' message.

Reattaching the screenshot of the delegator's outlook client just so we're 100% clear.

After many tests by me, I have reproduced the screenshot you provided me with as shown in the image below.

Based on the test results, I need to clarify the following points with you:

The above screenshot should be from OWA, not the outlook client. You'll need to double-check the source of the screenshot you're providing it.

The screenshot should come from the email of the actual participant, not the email of the delegator. You'll need to double-check that you're giving the delegator permissions in the actual participant's (manager's) calendar, not the delegator's calendar.

Make sure that the following permissions are correctly assigned.

I looked at both OWA and the "new" outlook client on the delegate's machine. We were logged into the delegate's account.

The manager does have it set to send to 'both my delegate and me'.

The screenshot I sent you was from the "new" outlook client on the delegate's account, but as I mentioned, it looks the same regardless of OWA or outlook client.

As New Outlook is a new product, some features may not function well.

In your case, I am unable to reproduce the issue at this time, I'll do more testing.

I would like to gather some of the following information:

Change Delegator: Leave the manager the same and replace the manager with a different delegator to see if the problem exists.

Change Manager: Keep the delegator the same and replace a different user (manager) to see if the problem exists.

Is there the problem in classic Outlook?

In this way, the source of the problem can be identified.

If Matt adds a test user as a delegate to his calendar, and I send an invite to matt, the test user does see the 'Received for Matt' message.

On the same invite, Laura does not see this message.

3.. If I add Laura as a delegate to the test user's calendar, and send an invite to the test user, Laura still does not see the 'Received for test user' message

4.. It doesn't matter whether Laura is using Outlook Classic, New Outlook, or OWA.

Based on your testing, the problem may only exist in a specific user named Laura, and you can try creating a new profile to see if the problem persists.
