Unable to access https://dns.google/dns-query{?dns} in china

Hi,

I am currently in China, flew from Hong Kong ytd, i just hooked up to my hotspot (data roaming using a Hong Kong sim). my MS Edge has been set to use secure dns (https://dns.google/dns-query{?dns}) but Weird thing is i cant access anything not even china local websites (baidu.com etc).

FYI, i can ping google dns server, 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and i did a cmd nslookup on www.yahoo.com and it manages to return me the IP address.

But when i switch to cloudfare dns in Ms Edge, suddenly everything works, pages get loaded. but when i again switch back to google secure dns in MS Edge, it stops working.

I tried to connect my friends' phones and everything works wonderfully.

Wonder if this is a bug. I remember when i was in china the previous time ard Jan this year using the same setting everything works. Only that edge was updated. My OS was not updated or changed between this experience.
