Facial Recognition will recognize and will send  me to a message saying, "before you can start using Windows Hello, you have to enter your pin" once i use my password it brings me to an error code 0x800710d2 and says to restart your device to  see if that fixes the problem. I've restarted the device multiple times and i get the same message

Any advice?

If you're unable to log in to your computer using your Windows Account password, we suggest that you try the following recovery options:

Restore your device from a system restore point

  1. On you sign in screen,  hold the Shift key down while you select Power> Restart in the lower-right corner of the screen.
  2. After your PC restarts, select Troubleshoot >Advanced option > System Restore.
  3. Choose a restore point. (Choose a date when you were able to log in to your computer)

Reset you device

If you don't have any restore points to restore your system or restoring did not resolve the issue, reset your device. If you choose the option Keep my files, this will reinstall Windows and keep your personal files. However, this will also remove apps and drivers you installed, and changes you made to settings. Choose Restore factory settings will remove everything but will reinstall Windows and some apps that came with your device.

  1. Hold the Shift key down while you select Power > Restart in the lower-right corner of the screen.
  2. After your PC restarts, select Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.

If resetting your device fails, the last option would be to restore your device using the recovery image. Only use this if none of the recovery options worked.

Feel free to post back if you need assistance.

Regards.

    Hello Mark,

Your first step tells me to log into  computer and my point of sending my problem was to say i can't login using any password..the information I use to login for this microsoft account does not work either..so it has me locked out the entire system and sends me to the error code, therefore i'm still puzzled.

    Hi Codey,

Error code 0x800710d2 occurs when the device fails to send any resource data. We suggest removing the PIN and then adding a new one. To do this, follow the steps below:

    1. Log in to your computer using your password.
    2. Press the Windows key + I to open Settings.
    3. Under Settings, select Accounts.
    4. Under Accounts, locate the PIN section and then click the Remove button.
    5. Click Remove to confirm.
    6. Enter your account password, then click OK to successfully remove the PIN.

Let us know how it goes after performing the suggested steps.
