Pro 7 crashing

my pro 7 crashes several times per day.  I have a pro 7  i5 8 GB running Windows 10 home edition.  I have updated windows and run the diagnostic tool without success.

Even during typing this message, it has crashed with code IRQL_NOT_LESS_OT_EQUAL

It often crashes during client presentations which makes this machine unusable.  I would return it if I was still within the window, but it sat unused in my office when I bought it.

Can someone please help me, this is so frustrating!!!!  I switched to Mac about 10 years ago and have just come back to Microsoft, but this machine as reminded me of all the reasons that I switched in the first place....

When did this start? If you look in device manager, what is the version of the

Intel Display Adapter? Is it Intel Corporation – Display - 26.20.100.7641 and

did the issues start after this was installed?

    Hello:

I have the same problem!!!!!!! The screenshot is the same as mine!!  Tried a lot of stuff.

I have the following error codes every 5 or 10 minutes:

    KERNEL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION

    UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP

    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

    REGISTRY_FILTER_DRIVER_EXCEPTION

    SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

those errors appear randomly in different order

I'm having the same issues. The only thing that's come close to fixing it is disabling the graphics in Device Manager, but that makes a host of other things not work (including external display for presentations).

I'm almost at the point of returning this unit for an exchange.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

    My Widows info is

    Version 1909 (OS Build 18363.657)

    I have a type cover.

I have done all that has been suggested and have been through the items on the blue screen errors page.

The crashes happen randomly.  Yesterday it crashed 5 times during a 4 hour presentation.  I was using a Microsoft wireless V2 adapter at the time and a logitec Spotlight presenter remote.

Then last night when I was typing my original message to you it crashed.

I don't know what else to do, I really cannot trust this machine at this point when presenting to clients.

What other suggestions do you have?

    Hi, BretFreeman1!

We understand it is very important for you to be able to use the device. Please allow us to help you out here. We need to gather information regarding this.

    ·         What is your Windows version and OS Build? Press Windows and type winver to obtain this.

    ·         When did he issue start?

    ·         Any changes made on the device?

    ·         Are there accessories connected to your device (Type Cover, SD card, Surface Dock, charger, etc.)?

    ·         Troubleshooting steps aside from the Windows Update and Surface Diagnostic Toolkit you mentioned.

    ·         Does this happen on any activity on the device?

    ·         Have you tried to force shutdown the device and restart?

    1. Press and hold the power button until the screen turns off (about 10 seconds), then release the power button.
    2. Press and release the power button to turn your Surface back on. You should see the Microsoft logo.

If that doesn't work, here's how to make sure your Surface turns off completely:

Press and hold down the power button until your Surface restarts and you see the Windows logo screen (about 20 seconds), then release the power button.

Thanks for providing the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OT_EQUAL error code. This error means that something may be wrong with a device driver, your device's memory, or antivirus software on your device. Here are some things to try.

Check for Windows Update again and make sure there are no updates needed**:**

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for Updates

Please restart your device to apply the updates.

If that same thing happens, please go to this page to be guided with the steps to Troubleshoot blue screen errors.
