QuickTime won't load. Keep getting error # -2093

QuickTime will not run on my new Windows 7 64-bit desktop. I've been through every uninstall/reinstall/reboot/msconfig operation imaginable.

Windows 7 software is up to date. The version of QuickTime is the newest on the Apple.com site. This has taken four days out of my life.  What else can I try?
