2022-01-14T23:27:38.58+00:00 I'm also running into installation problems with the latest version. The machine in question is running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS:
sudo apt install ./teams_1.4.00.26453_amd64.deb

Note, selecting 'teams' instead of './teams_1.4.00.26453_amd64.deb'

E: Sub-process returned an error codeFirst... I'm puzzled as to WHY it is trying to update a competing product?: Post-Invoke '/usr/local/apps/zoom/updater.sh' Given Microsoft's history of intentional borking other installed apps, this is a very questionable move to do, particularly when there is no explanation about what is happening.
Second... the resulting Teams installation isn't functional. When I start it, I get a teams login dialog without text next to any of the fields. Clicking in what appears to be fields and typing produces no visible text.
When I use the official package directly, I encounter a similar problem:

2023-09-08T01:53:01.92+00:00 I'm using teams on PWA for more 2 month and have being a unpleasant experience. MS switch from a very nice native version that works to PWA that doesn't, cameras that working in one meeting and on the second doesn't work anymore, mics that during meetings stop work, and I'm not talk the nice feature it has to auto mute you. No notications, etc. I real hope MS will review this decision.

2023-12-05T15:29:12.0366667+00:00 It seems that is a recurrent question.
Official Teams app was retired from Snapcraft at the end of 2022.
It appears that Microsoft stopped to create Linux app packages on the same time period.
There are third party websites that might host .deb or .rpm outdated packages, however there is hard to determine if they are "official" copies. At this point there is a project on Canonical Snapcraft:
Teams for Linux Unofficial Microsoft Teams client for Linux using Electron. It uses the Web App and wraps it as a standalone application using Electron. https://snapcraft.io/teams-for-linux

2024-05-07T22:15:12.61+00:00 So, May 2024, and the PWA from Edge advertises this :
.. and no, of course there is no App. So if you are grandfathered in on the app, use it until you can't.
Browsers, including PWA are problematic. If I change accounts in Teams, Outlook freezes. This is just a kick in the teeth, and should have been suppressed for the OS.
