Touch screen not working

I have a Dell Inspiron 7568 2-in-1 laptop (Service Tag F4LKC82) which has a 15.6" UHD touch screen and is designed to be used as a tablet, if desired.

At some point, the touch screen quit working and nothing I tried fixed the problem.  I was told a fresh install of the latest Windows 10 OS should solve this issue.

After a fresh installation of Windows 10 to version 1909 (OS Build 18363.778) the touch screen still does not work.  I have installed the latest system BIOS and latest available OEM Windows 10 drivers for my computer from Dell.  I looked in Device Manager and the monitor is listed as a "Generic PnP Monitor".  Also, under "Human Interface Devices", no Touch Screen is present.  Windows 10 System says "No Pen or Touch Input is available for this Display".

Does anyone know how to get Windows 10 to recognize that my screen is touch capable and install the proper HID-Compliant Touch Screen drivers?

    Lee,

I checked and there are no hidden devices under Human Interface Devices.

Also, I ran the Hardware Troubleshooter based on a web page that suggested doing this and told how. It found no problems.

    Hi Rick,

Usually the touch screen driver is packaged with the Serial IO or Chipset driver. May you please go back to device manager > Click view > Select show hidden devices > check if this HID-compliant touch screen driver is just hidden? If it is, right click and Uninstall it, go back to the Dell website and download the 3 drivers I told you (or just run the exe file if they are already downloaded).

You may want to also run the hardware & devices troubleshooter in Settings > Update & Security > troubleshoot

    Sincerely,

    Lee

    Lee,

Thanks for your reply.  I actually downloaded and installed all of the Inspiron 7568 Windows 10 (64-Bit) drivers from Dell after I installed Windows 10.  This includes the three drivers that you suggested. The touch screen has not worked at all.  Everything else seems to be working properly. There are no warning "splashes" for any device in Device Manager and no unknown or "Other" devices.  I have read that there should be a listing under the Human Interface Devices section labeled "HID-compliant Touch screen", but there is no such listing. Only "HID-compliant Touch" which I believe is the touch pad.

    I am very frustrated.
