Hello. I have a problem with Delivery Optimization. The thing is, it randomly starts using all of my bandwidth and causing lags. I already tried to stop it from Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options and turning off Allow Downloads From Other Devices. Also Tried the method from registry. None of these worked. I wanted to know if there's another way to permanently stop it from using bandwidth.

Hello Dave. Thanks for the instructions this made the Delivery Optimization to stop using my bandwidth for 2-3 days and now it's back again to get on my nerves. Unfortunately it seems there's no way to stop it permanently

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    1

Click your Start Button, type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor.

Click View and make sure 'Address Bar' is turned on.

Paste this into the Address Bar at the top and hit Enter.

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DoSvc

Double click 'Start' in the right hand pane, then set its Value Data to 4 and click OK

Close the Registry editor and restart (not shut down) your PC

    2

Then, you must delete the updates that Delivery Optimization was uploading

    Open File Explorer

    Click on your hard drive

Click the 3 dots on the top menu and select Cleanup

Let Disk Cleanup do its initial scan

Select Everything in the list and choose Delete

    Start Disk Cleanup again

Let Disk Cleanup do its initial scan

Very Important - this time in the resulting dialog, click 'Cleanup System Files'

Let Disk Cleanup run another scan

Select Everything in the list and choose Delete
