Some Application Display Problem

Anonymous
2021-12-16T06:01:47+00:00

Starting in October, some application appear this problem.

E.g: Visual Studio Installer, Wacom Desktop Center, and my office software kanzi studio.

And the problem still exists when I reinstall windows 11.

My friend’s computer also had this problem almost at the same time. Her windows version is 10.

So I deem maybe this is bug in windows 10/11, and this bug make my work efficiency drop. I need some solution to kill this problem.

Here are some screenshots to describe this issue.

    Hi Bikteen -

System Restore most certainly can help you solve this problem if it returns after rolling back to factory condition.

Did you follow Step 1 in my first post to try to System Restore to before the problem happened? This is your first line of defense if it happens again.

Make sure System Restore is turned on as explained in Step 1, and a Restore point is set so you can roll back and block any Updates that cause this.

Let me know if I can help further. I'll stay subscribed to this thread in case you need anything else, until the system locks it in a few months.

    Thanks for your response Greg!

I tried the above each step but don't work. I guess this problem is system bug because several computers (about 13) around me all had this problem during this time period. And I found some similar posts on the network.

But these answers can not help me to solve this problem.
I restore system to purchased version (win10 19041), and this problem disappeared.

    Sincerely,

    Bikteen

Please report back results for each step I gave in my post. One of these should fix it. If not then based on the results you report back I will have other suggestions.

Maybe I find a solution for this problem. Just disable Direct3D acceleration then reopen application. But using this method will cause some games to fail to open. So I want to get some other solution.

Hi Bikteen. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, specializing in Installation, Performance, Troubleshooting and Activation, here to help you.

    1. See if you can System Restore to a point before the problem started:

    https://itechhacks.com/system-restore-windows-11/

System Restore is your first line of defense and can take you back to a point before a problem began like a time machine. If it doesn't help then you can undo it. Read about it first in the tutorial above and then try restoring to just before this started. If System Restore is not enabled on C drive do that now so it's available in the future.

If the problem repeats or System Restore doesn't work then check which Windows Updates were installed at Settings > Update & Security > Windows Updates > Update History, uninstall them there or System Restore again, then immediately check for and block the Updates with the Hide Updates tool explained here: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8280-hide-s...

If necessary System Restore and Uninstall Updates can also be done from the Repair Mode accessed one of these ways: https://www.elevenforum.com/t/boot-to-advanced-...

    1. The Display driver is so important here that merely updating it is sometimes not enough. So let's try everything possible to get it working correctly:

First make sure you have updated the Display driver from the PC or Display adapter maker's Support Downloads web page for your exact model number, HP Serial Number or Dell Service Tag - from the sticker on the PC.

While there check also for newer chipset, BIOS/UEFI firmware (very important), network, sound, USB3 and other drivers, comparing to the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu.

Remove the old driver using DDU https://www.wagnardsoft.com/content/ddu-guide-t... if necessary installing in Safe Mode with Networking (so you have internet), or Safe Mode, accessed by one of these methods: https://www.digitalcitizen.life/4-ways-boot-saf... If any problems with DDU or cleaning out the old driver see Lightning Leon's Answer here: https://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-11/how-to-star...

If this doesn't give you the latest or ideal driver for what you need, compare it to the driver offered by the Intel driver update Utility here:

    https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support...

or the Nvidia GeForce scanner here:

    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=e...

or the AMD autodect utility here:

    http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/P...

For Display issues one fix that is working is to Roll back or Uninstall the Driver on the Display Device > Driver tab, restart PC to reinstall driver.

You can also try older drivers in Device Manager > Display device > Driver tab > Update Driver > Browse > Let Me Pick.

Then you will know you've tried everything in addition to Windows Update drivers.

Adjust the screen resolution until it fits and looks best at Settings > System > Display.

    1. Run System File Checker/DISM in WIndows 11:

    https://www.elevenforum.com/t/use-system-file-c...

    1. If that doesn't fix it then you can do a Windows 11 Repair Upgrade which reinstalls Windows while saving your files and apps in place, brings it up to the latest version by the most stable method, takes about an hour and resolves most problems: https://www.elevenforum.com/t/repair-install-wi...

Feel free to ask back any questions. Please report back results for all steps given so I know what else to suggest if necessary.
