Teams background image

Question

Hello, in the new Teams version you can only upload your own background images in 1:1 format, although 16:9 format would be correct. I suspect this is a bug since the new update.

I would like to ask you to fix this bug so that you can upload your own background images in 1920x1080px (16:9 format) again.

Based on your description, I understand that you are having issues uploading Teams background images.

I did some research on this, and I just found that there is a Service Incident that is affecting uploading Teams background, that have pixels above 1800.

Please rest assured our Team is currently working on this and a fix will be rolled out as soon as it is ready.

More info: When attempting to upload a background image larger than 1800x1800, users receive an error message stating ""invalid image size" and the upload fails.

Current status: We're completing the final testing and validations of our fix before initiating its deployment. We expect to provide a timeline for the fix deployment with our next scheduled update.

Scope of impact: Your organization is affected by this event, and this issue prevents any user from uploading background images larger than 1800x1800 during Microsoft Teams meetings.
