Dear 5 Boetie,

Thank you for sharing your system and Office program with us. We see that you have indeed joined the Beta channel, but the Groupby function is not displayed.

And an error is displayed during the update. We checked your error information. This error code usually occurs when the network or protection software in your system blocks the corresponding link, causing you to fail to update successfully.

You can try to turn off your firewall and protection software to help you confirm the update information, and you can also try offline installation for confirmation.

But please note that if you try to install offline, the installation will display the official version of Office, and you need to rejoin the Beta channel.

Error code 30183-28 when installing Office - Microsoft Support

At the same time, since the preview version updates will be different from the official version, in order to help you use and receive the Groupby feature displayed in the preview channel, we recommend that you ensure that the Office program is connected to the Internet and waits for self-update and detection information.

We also recommend that you pay attention to the Microsoft website with silver and provide feedback to help the preview team notice your account and details to help you view release and recommendation information.

    Dear 5 Boetie,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We understand that you want to use the Groupby function in Excel.

We see that you have joined the preview program and use Microsoft 365 programs but your function information is not displayed. We have also inquired and confirmed, and need to confirm with you:

What channel of the preview program did you join? DEV or Beta channel?

What is your system version displayed?

We need to explain to you:

This feature is currently available to users running the following Beta channels:

Windows: Version 2312 (Build 17116.10000) or later

If you join other preview channels, this feature information may not be displayed. You need to join the correct preview channel to confirm.

At the same time, since the preview channel features are gradually recommended and released to users, after joining, some preview users will not be able to use the features temporarily, but don't worry, we will release new features to all users who join the preview channel as soon as possible and help them use them. You need to wait patiently for the update and further release of the preview channel.

At the same time, since the Microsoft Community can only provide technical support and cannot directly confirm the specific release and recommendation time of the feature.

In order to further improve them and help you use this feature, we also recommend that you can put forward your suggestions and ideas on the dedicated feedback platform **** Excel · Community (microsoft.com) (only in English), where dedicated personnel will pay attention to your feedback and comment on it.

    Best Regards,
