PowerPoint can't ungroup linked pictures, only embedded ones. If you link an EMF, PowerPoint will embed the file, then ungroup it. PowerPoint doesn't do the same with SVGs. Instead of embedding the file, it crashes.

You can report this bug by choose File>Feedback. Click on the Send a Frown button, describe the problem so it can be reproduced, including the fact that the file was linked rather than embedded. Submitting sends the report to the PowerPoint programming team.

    Hello Akiva,

    Thanks for your help.

    I insert my own Icon through code VBA

    ActiveWindow.Selection.SlideRange.Shapes.AddPicture _

                        (FileName:=chemin & "Fleches\3WaysArrow_32px.svg", _

                        linktofile:=msoTrue, _

                        SaveWithDocument:=msoCTrue, _

                        Left:=100, _

                        Top:=100).Select

    I think the problem is because the setting linktofile = msoTrue. When I set to msoFalse, is ok, no crash

    SVG format is relatively new to Office and the import filter doesn't always accept every variation on the format.

    A program that does a good job of exporting SVG and EMF (both vector formats that Office can use) is Inkscape. It's free. Try importing your SVG into it, then export both SVG and EMF. Then bring them into PowerPoint, ungroup and see which format works better for your application.

    Hello,

    I am an independent advisor, and I am trying to help other users in Community with my experience in Microsoft products.

    Try repairing your Office to correct this malfunction. First try Quick Repair (takes 5 - 10 mins), if that doesn't help then try Online Repair (Takes more than 30 mins but less than 1 hour in general)

    How to Repair

    Windows Key+R > Type appwiz.cpl and Enter > Click on Microsoft Office > Click on Change on top (you can right click also) > Change > Now, you would get options to repair Office

    Do let me know if you require any further help on this. Will be glad to help you.
