You can insert them through the Symbol dialog (Insert | Symbols | Symbol | More Symbols...), but note that there are built-in keyboard shortcuts for all the accented letters you would need for Spanish or Portuguese. For a chart of these, see the section on "International characters" at http://wordfaqs.ssbarnhill.com/InsertSpecChars.htm. Note that in this chart, a combination such as "Ctrl+' (apostrophe), the letter" means that you press the Ctrl key and the apostrophe key simultaneously, release, and then type the desired letter.

The Character Map is a Windows program. You can start it from the Run dialog box (Windows logo key + R); in the dialog box, type charmap and press Enter.

In this case, however, using the Insert > Symbol > More Symbols dialog box would be a better choice, as Suzanne has already said in her reply.

    Hi Eduardo,

Sorry, after searching, I'm afraid there doesn't have the character map in Word and I think the function of "Translate text into a different language" may help a little.

Besides, I would like to suggest you share a new idea in Word's Suggestion Box. If other users are also having the same demand, they would be able to vote for the idea. The more users vote, the more likely this feature will attract developers' attention, it will benefit more users once this idea can be accepted by the product team.

Welcome community members to share new ideas on this problem.

    Best Regards,

    Hugo
