OData: Incompatible type kinds were found. Found type kind 'Primitive' instead of the expected kind 'None'

I get this error when I try to load data in to Excel (MS office 2016 16.0.11929.20436).

Is there a way I can trouble shoot what the cause is? after the duplicate elements were renamed , the data is loaded in the web browser when the same url is given but gives the same error in excel.

    Hi Madoc,

Thank you for the reply. I am good and hope you also stay safe during the COVID19 pandemic.

I have sent a feedback to the client support. I have added the link to my other issue for them to refer, but not sure if they have access to it.

Hoping for a positive response since I am unable to proceed with providing a solution due to the invisibility of the actual cause of the error.

    Kind Regards,

    Suwblk

    Hi Suwblw,

    Thanks for your update.

I really want to help, but as the forum support team, we have limited resources to mobilize. Your requirements cannot be fulfilled in Excel at present. For your concern, in addition to rasing posts in UserVoice, we recommend that you send feeddback to Office client team directly. The quickest route to get your comments to our developers’ ears is right from within Excel client. And if you want to, you can even tell us your email address in case they need to contact you for clarification. They read all feedback. From your Excel dekstop client, click File > Feedback.

And for this thread, we've already learned your appeal, another technical support engineer will respond to you in this thread.

Highly apprecaite your time and understanding. Hope you good during the COVID-19!

    Best regards,

    Madoc

    Hi Madoc,

Thank you for the prompt reply.

Is there a way to view any log files of the actual exception being logged in excel? It is really difficult to identify what the actual cause to fix the error I get. I have also posted question on the real problem I face, could you please escalate this and provide a solution soon.

    Hi Suwblk,

Currently, we cannot debug OData source in Excel. As mentioned in a knowledge -based article, you can debug OData source in Visual Studio.

If you think it should bring the feature to Excel, you can submit feedback to UserVoice, which is the official suggestion box for Excel. Other users will also be able to vote on the same post so that it will increase the awareness coming from the related team. More votes will make the team more aware that this is a highly requested feature.

    Appreciate your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Madoc
