Hi Sumana,
Sorry for the inconvenience it may have caused.
I did a test with the PowerPoint 16.35 for Mac on my side, and the Laser Pointer selection displayed normally when I clicked on the Pen button in Slide Show view. In addition to select Laser Pointer by using mouse, you can also try pressing Command + P directly in Slide Show view to show the Laser Pointer.
Here’re some suggestions you can try:
- Update Office to the latest version. With Office updated, some issues would get resolved. So it’s a good idea to keep Office up to date.
- The problem may also be related to the settings after you installed Office for Mac, so you can try to remove these files below.
- Close PowerPoint, open Finder.
- Press Command + Shift + G, input “~/Library/Containers”, remove
com.microsoft.PowerPoint to desktop.
com.microsoft.office.plist to desktop.
- Open PowerPoint, and check if Laser Pointer shows correctly.
If the issue persists, we may need to collect some information to further check it:
- Please provide the Office version and macOS version.
Office version: After opening PowerPoint client, click PowerPoint > About Microsoft PowerPoint on the menu.
macOS version: Click Apple icon > About this Mac on the menu.
- Does the issue occur on all PowerPoint presentations? Try to create a new one and check the result.
Appreciate your understanding.
Best regards,
Madoc
