PowerPoint Microsoft Forms

Question

Greetings,

I think PowerPoint/Forms combination is an excellent idea. I will be able to do an online customer questionnaire with the information and questions in the same experience. My other option was to have a PowerPoint link to an Adobe form in the same folder. This is a better customer experience and much easier to setup, not to mention that the responses are collected. I do have a couple of questions:

Layout

-I suppose the answer should be obvious, but is there some way to embed the questions into an already created slide? I suppose I could snag a screenshot of the slide with the info, but the Forms question panel is so large, it would be hard to show enough information.

-is there a way to force the Forms question to use the PowerPoint template?

Saving

-is there a way to prevent moving to another slide if a response has been registered on a Forms slide, but Submit button has not been pressed

-my customer doesn't need to be asked if they want to save the PowerPoint slide show. Is it necessary if the response has been submitted? Can that message be supressed?

OneDrive

-I want to share this from OneDrive. In order for the questions to be answered and submitted, I have to give edit access to the PowerPoint. I don't want the user to be able to edit the presentation, just the embedded Form questions. Am I out of luck here - is it all or nothing? Is there a workaround?

We noticed that we could insert a form into PowerPoint.

For layout:

However, based on my research and tests, it may be not feasible to force the Forms question to use the PowerPoint template now. As a workaround, we may change the theme of the form.

For Saving:

Sorry that I didn’t find a detailed way to prevent moving to another slide if a response has been registered on a Forms slide but Submit button has not been pressed.

Based on my tests, if we have registered on a Forms slide, we are able to move to another slide. However, if we click the submit button, PowerPoint won’t ask to save the PowerPoint slide show.

For OneDrive:

If you don’t want the user to edit your PowerPoint file, as a workaround, you could share it using “Anyone with the link can view” link. In this way, users won’t have permission to edit the PowerPoint file and submit the forms online. However, they can download or save the file as copy and then they are available to submit their feedback using the copied file. And you will receive the responses.

Moreover, I understand your feelings. So, it’s also recommended to send a feedback to suggest the features within PowerPoint app. (Help > Feedback.) Since it is the quickest route to get your comments to the related programming developers’ ears. They read customer feedback daily.

Hi May,

I am so pleased that you took the time to research this and respond. I am trying another avenue. I am taking a Udemy course for VBA for PowerPoint. I am going to attempt to incorporate ActiveX controls in the slides and get the user to interact that way. I am getting a good idea about how to place and code the various controls. It will all boil down to whether I am able to successfully save the responses in a PowerPoint presentation in OneDrive. I'll probably flail around with that and then come back here and whine about it :)
