SharePoint Site Usage

Hi All

How do I get a count for the number of hits on my SharePoint Home Page?  When I look at the Site Usage report it lists hits on all pages except the Home page.  I am using the system generated Home.aspx page as my Home Page.

Thank You

Peter

    Hi Peter,

Thank you for your reply and sharing the details above.

Based on your updates this issue most likely is occurred at your tenant level in this scenario, as all SharePoint sites in your tenant have same behavior as well as the other colleagues in your organization.

Since this scenario should be related to your tenant level, I kindly suggest you can let your tenant admin to raise a support ticket in Microsoft 365 admin center, which the related support team there can further check this issue from tenant level and further investigate into it. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Additionally, I also wrote a summary based on your current information you shared above and sent you via the private message. You can also let tenant admin to attach this summary while raise support ticket in admin center.

    Best regards,

    Dihao

Thanks very much Dihao, here's the info you requested.

1: Does this scenario occurs in all SharePoint sites with their default Home pages or this particular SharePoint site?

2: You can also try to create a new SharePoint sites and see whether you can see Home.aspx page is listed under Site pages in Site usage.

I only had one SharePoint site so was unable to answer no1.  I created a new site and the same thing happened.  My new site had a Home page and one extra page.  I could see counts on the extra page, but not on the system generated Home page.

3: Try to switch to a different browser and see the results.

Edge:  My default browser.  This occurs

    Chrome:  Same thing

Int Explorer:  Site Usage Report was not generated at all.

4: How about the other colleagues with their own SharePoint site in your organization tenant? Do they have the same scenario when they view the home page in SharePoint Usage?

I checked with another SharePoint site owner and they have the same issue.

    Hi Peter,

Thank you for posting your question in this community.

From your description, you couldn’t see your SharePoint site’s Home page ‘s usage data in Site Usage page.

I did a test to check different SharePoint site’s site usage page and its default home page usages (Home.aspx), such as Visits, Unique viewers, Time spent. The data of Home page is listed correctly in my SharePoint Site Usage page as well as the other pages I created under this SharePoint site.
