Problems with insert caption

Question

Hi,

always when i try to insert caption to figure in a document, and I have more than 1 image in the same line, the word give the same number to diferent image and update automatically the first image with the number of second image.

The problem occurs because the captions are in text boxes. You will have to make sure that the text boxes are anchored to different paragraphs for the numbering to be correct.

Captions that you add to wrapped objects will be put inside text boxes. The screen shot below illustrates how the relative positions of the text box anchors decide how Word calculates the caption number.

In addition to the possibilty that Stefan mentioned, if the images are inserted in the document with the layout set to other than in-line with text, as a result of which each one is anchored to a location in the document, the numbering of the captions will follow the sequence of the location of the anchors in the document.
