Word with JAWS Screenreader

My student is using JAWS 19 with Windows 10. When on Microsoft Word, often it will work great but randomly, it will stop reading the text and just say blank. We restart word and usually, that helps but this is a persistent problem. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any settings that I need to change?

    Hi Jessica,

    Thanks for choosing Microsoft.

It seems that your student gets some problem when using JAWS screen reader with Word on Window 10, if so, we are sorry for the inconvenience caused.

To narrow down whether the issue relates to Word itself, we kindly suggest you update Word to the latest version and see if the new updates can help fix it. Based on this Official article, now the latest version for Word current channel is 2011, you can have a check.

Besides, please make sure you are using the good internet to ensure the internet won't affect it.

In addition, could you please provide the below information to continue troubleshooting?

    1. Go to Word> click File> capture the screenshot of full Product Information page here.
    2. Do all documents or just a specific one gets the problem?
    3. Did you get any prompt or error? Please capture the screenshot of it and also the screenshot of “blank” page you received.
    4. If convenient, could you also check other Office applications? Including PowerPoint, etc.

Welcome to let us know any updates.

    Best regards,

    Gloria
