Mac M1 2021 - Does Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) work on that platform.

In the past, I have been using Office 2016 on an old Mac computer. - I have been developing VBA for my custom needs related to both Word and Excel. I did not encounter any unsolvable issues when developing on Mac.

Can I continue to develop in VBA on my new 2021 Mac with M1. My OS is MacOs Big Sur 11.4 (I intend to buy office 365)

Important,

I will not install the Rosetta extension.

Also,

Are the any migration guides related to VBA. EG, when moving between Mac and Windows, and between 2016 & 2021.

/Jens

Hello Jens,

I'm Diane, an Office Apps & Services MVP specializing in Outlook, and I’m happy to help you today.

Yes, the macros you created on your old mac will work on the new one.

This is a Microsoft article on using VBA on a mac - since you've used VBA before, it might be "old news" - https://docs.microsoft.com/office/vba/api/overv...

Are you storing your macros in different documents/workbooks or all in one documents/workbook? This article has the location where the macros are stored id you store them in a personal file -
