Microsoft Visual Basic run-time errors on ARM Windows 11

Question

I'm getting the following error when running a legacy VBA Excel App:

I'm running the current Windows 11 Preview Build for ARM version 21H2 (OS Build 22000.348)

Excel version: Microsoft® Excel® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2111 Build 16.0.14701.20206) 64-bit (ARM architecture)

I *think* the problem is caused by Excel pointing to a VBA library location of C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VBA\VBA7.1\VBE7.DLL, a location that doesn't exist in the ARM version of Windows I'm using. The location of VBE7.DLL is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\vfs\ProgramFilesCommonX64\Microsoft Shared\VBA\VBA7.1\VBE7.DLL

Question is how do I repoint to the correct location of VBE7.DLL?

I've tried using the developer menu in Excel to browse to the correct location and have tried recreating the former VBE7.DLL location within C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared to no avail.

Thanks for writing back and updating the information with us.

Since the problem happens when you are working on specific functions within the add-in, where it works without any problem in Win 11 Intel and the problem happens with Win 11 ARM, I request you report the behavior to the related developing team via submitting the feedback from Excel app. Reference: How do I give feedback on Microsoft Office?

Hi, in answer to your questions:

The error occurs when running executing certain functions within the app. The app is a proprietary Excel add-in and I'm not sure you would class these functions as macros. Unfortunately I don't have access to the source code of the add-in. The app works as designed on an Intel WIN 11 machine.

Simple macros record and run just fine.

Sorry for the trouble caused at your end.

From the description shared, I would like to know whether you are encountering the error when you are trying to run a Macro or when you click on Visual Basic?

If you record a simple macro, can you run it without any problem? In addition, can you please share the Product Information of the Excel app used at your end? Open your Excel app> Account> Check the name under Product Information
