Mini Toolbar on Excel

Hi, I cannot get the Mini Toolbar to show when I select cells. According to Help / Use the Mini toolbar to format text, it should show as long as the Show mini tool bar on selection button under Options General is ticked. I checked it, and it is. What I get instead (on selecting cells) is the Quick Analysis toolbar (unless I un-tick its button in Options).

Is it not part of Excel 365?

Thanks,

Rogan.

So here is one more piece of information that I discovered following up on your reply. If you put your mouse over the information "i" in the options next to the Mini Toolbar selection, it says that it will appear when you select text.

So, this mini toolbar only appears when text inside the cell is selected and allows you to format the selected text.

    Hopefully less confusing.

Hi Roganthefirst. I am an Excel user like you.

The Quick Analysis toolbar icon appears automatically when you select two or more cells like you have seen. The mini-toolbar only appears when you RIGHT-CLICK in a cell or selection and will be either above or below the menu that is brought up as below.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Shakiru,

    Thanks for your reply.

I did everything you suggested. I even did a re-install of Office 365.

But I still only get the Quick Analysis toolbar on select. If I switch Show Quick Analysis options on selection off in Options, it does not appear; but the Mini Toolbar is still absent.

I don't believe it is part of Excel 365. Just think of this: if both options (Show Quick Analysis and Show Mini Toolbar) are switched on, do you see both buttons on select? Begins to sound a bit messy. But you cannot judge until the Mini Toolbar appears!

    Please help.

    Regards,

    Rogan.

    Hi Roganthefirst!

The Mini Toolbar is indeed a feature available in Excel 365.

If you have already ensured that the "Show mini toolbar on selection" option is checked in the Excel options, but you are still not seeing the Mini Toolbar, it's possible that there may be a temporary glitch or an issue with your Excel settings or there is an issue with the installation.

Please try this: * Update Excel: Make sure that you have the latest updates installed for Excel 365. Click File> Account> Update Option> Click Updates and follow the prompts to complete it

    * Repair Office Installation: You can try repairing your Office installation to fix any potential issues with the Excel program. To do this, go to the Control Panel, select "Programs," then "Programs and Features," find your Microsoft Office installation, and choose the "Repair" option.

Kindly let me know, if you require additional assistance, I will be glad to help further.

    Best Regards, Shakiru
