I want to lock most of the content (object, text boxes, images etc.) in my ppt presentation allowing editing only to a select few items. There used to be a lock button on the selection pane but I no longer see it there. Is there a way to make sure that people cannot edit the items I select, or at lease not easily?

You can lock objects in PowerPoint using the Microsoft 365 version of PowerPoint for Windows. On other platforms and other Office programs, you must lock graphics by editing the underlying XML of the file. Here's my how-to article: OOXML Hacking: Locking Graphics
