I have installed Microsoft Office on another computer. Does anyone know how to transfer all my settings of Word from one computer to another? (Including macros and key shortcuts for those macros.)

In addition to the Normal template, you may wish to copy the file that contains settings for the Ribbon and QAT. Depending on your version of Word, this file will be Word.qat or Word.officeui and will be located at C:\Users<ProfileName>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OFFICE.

Hi Vlad

I'm AnnaThomas and I'd happily help you with your question. In this Forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

You can try copying the Normal.dotm template file, which stores your customizations, from the old computer to the new one. Here are the steps to do this:

On your old computer, open a File Explorer window and paste the following path into the address bar: %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Templates. Press Enter to navigate to the folder. Find the Normal.dotm file in this folder and copy it to a location accessible from your new computer, such as a USB drive or cloud storage. On your new computer, open a File Explorer window and paste the same path into the address bar: %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Templates. Press Enter to navigate to the folder. Rename the existing Normal.dotm file in this folder to something like Normal.old.dotm to keep a backup of it. Copy the Normal.dotm file from your old computer into this folder on your new computer..

I hope this helps ;-), let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions.

Best Regards,

AnnaThomas

In particular, AutoCorrect entries will be in separate files as will custom dictionaries.
