Duplex printing: unable to perform printing on both sides of paper despite selecting correct options in MS word and HP printer settings.

On second computer that prints to the same printer, no issues with printing duplex.

Other wise the documents print correctly.

Solutions?

Thanks

    Hello Patrick,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with duplex printing. Here are a few steps you can try:

    1. Check Printer Properties: While you have mentioned printer settings, I would like to confirm which specific settings you have checked? Make sure the Automatic Duplexing option is enabled for the printer. You can do this by entering Control Panel > Devices and Printers. Right-click the printer icon, then click Printer Properties. Click the Device Settings tab. Set the Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as installed and click OK to save the change.
    2. Update Printer’s Firmware: Try updating the printer’s firmware via a USB cable. This might resolve the issue.
    3. Reinstall MS Office: If duplex printing works from other apps but not from MS Word, try uninstalling and reinstalling MS Office.
    4. Check Layout Settings in Word: Open the print window in Word and select Layout from the drop-down menu. Set the Two-Sided option as Long-Edge binding (Portrait), or Short-Edge binding (Landscape).

If none of these solutions work, it might be a good idea to reach out to HP support for more specific advice.
