If I have 1.2TB of storage, can I cancel my additional 200GB of cloud storage? Seems highly unnecessary. User's image

Hi Scott, thanks for posting in the community. Great question. If you already have 1 TB from Microsoft 365 and an extra 200 GB, you can definitely cancel the additional plan as long as your total usage is under 1 TB. Here are a few things to check:

    Check your current usage

Sign in to your OneDrive account and confirm how much space you’re using. If it’s below 1 TB, you’re safe to cancel the extra storage.

    Turn off recurring billing

Go to account.microsoft.com/services and turn off recurring billing for the 200 GB plan. This will stop future charges.

    What happens after canceling

Your files will stay in OneDrive as long as you’re under the 1 TB limit. If you’re over the limit after the extra storage is removed, you won’t lose files immediately, but you won’t be able to upload new ones until you reduce usage.

    Give it some time

If you recently upgraded to Microsoft 365, it can take a few hours for the 1 TB storage to show across all devices.

Let me know how it goes happy to help.

    Best,
    Carl
