Hello,

I am trying to activate Windows on my computer, but the process fails. When I enter my product key, I receive the message: “Windows could not be activated.”

Could you please assist me in resolving this issue?

What happened on your PC before Windows was not activated?

    2

Where did you get your Windows licence was that pre-installed on the PC or did you purchase a full retail Windows licence from Microsoft or from a 3rd party retailer?

Or is your Windows licence based on a previous Windows 7 or 8 licence?

Click your Start Button, type cmd then right click Command Prompt and choose 'Run as Administrator'

Run or paste this command and hit Enter:

    slmgr.vbs /dlv

Please post a screenshot of the resulting dialog

To resolve the issue with activating Windows 11, you can consider the following steps:

    1. Check the Product Key: Ensure that the product key you are entering is correct and corresponds to the edition of Windows 11 you are trying to activate. If there was a typo, it could cause activation to fail.
    2. Run Command Prompt as Administrator: Sometimes, activation requires elevated privileges. To do this:
      • Open the Start menu, search for Command Prompt.
      • Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
      • In the command prompt, you can run the command slmgr.vbs /ato to attempt activation again.
    3. Check for Blocked Keys: If you receive a message indicating that the product key is blocked, you will need to obtain a new product key.
    4. Contact Microsoft Support: If the problem persists, it may be necessary to contact Microsoft Licensing Activation Centers for further assistance.
    5. Reinstall Windows: If there are issues with system files, a reinstallation of the operating system may be required.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the activation issue with Windows 11.
