When I launch Roblox the game runs smooth for about 10 minutes and then just freezes up and crashes. I have enough storage to run it. I used to be able to play for HOURS without issue. I have turned down the graphics setting and frame rate settings in the game as well

    Hi,

please describe your PC configuration and show a screenshot of built-in msinfo32 tool.

If your PC is brand made, reinstall graphic drivers from PC manufacturer's site using third-party DDU tool.

Work through these steps in order, testing Roblox after each one:

    1. Install Windows and driver updates
    • Go to Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates and install all updates, including optional driver updates under Advanced options > Optional updates.
    • This can fix stability and graphics issues that appear after game or OS changes.
    1. Update or reinstall graphics drivers
    • Use Windows Update optional updates to install any available display adapter driver.
    • If crashes continue, clean‑install the latest GPU driver from the GPU or PC manufacturer (NVIDIA/AMD/Intel/your OEM).
    1. Check for DirectX / 3D issues
    • If other 3D games show problems (3D acceleration unavailable, errors about video adapter, or Direct3D/DirectDraw disabled in DxDiag), follow these steps:
      • Install the latest DirectX End‑User Runtimes from the Microsoft site listed in the article.
      • Update the video driver again if needed.
      • If issues persist, perform a clean startup (see step 5 below) to rule out background conflicts.
    1. Check for overheating or GPU protection behavior
    • If freezes happen only under load (like Roblox or other 3D games) after several minutes, overheating can cause the GPU or system to throttle or temporarily hang.
    • Use a hardware monitoring tool to check CPU/GPU temperatures while Roblox is running. If temperatures are very high right before the freeze, improve cooling (clean dust, improve airflow) or lower in‑game settings and frame rate caps further.
    1. Perform a clean startup to rule out background apps Background apps (overlays, “optimizer” tools, RGB/OC utilities, browser, recording/streaming apps) can interfere with games.
    • Follow the clean startup procedure described in the article (disabling non‑Microsoft services and startup apps), then reboot and test Roblox.
    • If Roblox is stable in clean startup, re‑enable apps in small groups to find the conflicting one.
    1. Scan for malware
    • Go to Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection and run a Quick scan.
    • Malware can consume resources and cause freezes during games.
    1. Check Event Viewer and Reliability Monitor
    • Open Event Viewer (right‑click Start > Event Viewer) and look under Windows Logs > System and Application around the time of the crash for display, driver, or hardware errors.
    • Open Reliability Monitor (search for “Reliability Monitor”) and look for App crash or Hardware error entries when Roblox freezes. Repeated display or LiveKernel events often point to GPU/driver or thermal issues.
    1. Test with fewer background devices and simpler setup
    • Temporarily disconnect extra monitors, USB devices, and overlays (Discord overlay, GPU overlays, etc.) and test Roblox with only the main display and keyboard/mouse.

If Roblox still crashes after all of the above, collect the exact error from Reliability Monitor (Roblox faulting module or any “Hardware error / LiveKernelEvent” codes) and use that to guide next steps (for example, GPU‑specific troubleshooting if LiveKernelEvent codes appear repeatedly).
