Authenticator Code

Question

When trying responding to authenticator with code, the number comes up but the IPAD keyboard will not pop up to respond.

Open Microsoft Authenticator manually instead of waiting for the iPad keyboard to appear. For number matching, the app is typically waiting for approval inside Authenticator, not for iPad text entry.

Try these steps:

1. On the sign-in screen, note the number shown.
2. Open Microsoft Authenticator on the iPad directly.
3. Look for the pending sign-in request and enter the displayed number there.
4. If nothing appears, pull down or tap Refresh in Authenticator.
5. Make sure the app is unlocked. If Authenticator is locked, the entry box might not appear.
6. Check that notifications are enabled and not silent.
7. Make sure the iPad has internet access. If possible, switch between Wi‑Fi and mobile data.
8. Verify Date & Time are correct on the device.
9. Update Authenticator to the latest version.

If the prompt still does not appear in the app, use Other verification options or I can’t use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now on the sign-in screen, if available.

If the app only shows a changing 6-digit code, that is a verification code that refreshes every 30 seconds. It is different from number matching prompts.
