I authenticated and signed into a site yesterday and noticed this morning that it is still sending one-time password codes to authenticator.

    Hi,

What you're experiencing is expected behavior when an account is configured in Microsoft Authenticator for one-time password (OTP) authentication.

The codes displayed in the Authenticator app are generated locally on your device and automatically refresh every 30 seconds. Although it may appear that new codes are continually being sent from the website, the site is not actively sending these codes each time. The app continuously generates them so that a valid code is always available whenever you need to sign in.

As a result, seeing the code change throughout the day does not indicate that someone is trying to access your account or that there is an issue with the website.

If you no longer need this account in Microsoft Authenticator, you can remove it from the app. However, before doing so, please ensure you have another available sign-in method to avoid losing access to your account.

If, instead of seeing rotating codes, you are receiving repeated approval notifications or sign-in prompts on your device, please let me know, as that would indicate a different situation that I would be happy to investigate further.

I hope this information is useful. Additionally, as other users have raised similar concerns and may not be aware of where to share their feedback, I hope this response helps clarify the situation and suggests a potential next step. Highlighting this information can make it more visible to others in the community who may be facing the same issue, making it easier for them to find guidance and contribute their feedback as well.

Thank you again for your time and for raising this important usability concern. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

I look forward to your thoughts on this.
