Microsoft Teams, Windows 10, and COVID - kinda urgent?

Hello -

I recently was unable to conference with my mother's care team because they would not use Skype or Zoom, and my computer would not load Teams.
If I recall correctly, the message was that Microsoft Teams was only supported on Windows 365?
Even as a client (or non-initiator of the meeting), I was requested to download Windows Teams.

Now I am part of a contact tracing team and due to attend a training the day after tomorrow.
Again I am asked to download Microsoft Teams.

I am not trying to initiate the meeting, merely to attend.
I find no place to download Microsoft Teams for a machine with old stuff - Windows 10 / MS Office 10 - even as a client.

So many people still have Windows 10 - even if you are not supporting it -
For the sake of helping out in this emergency, it seems like it would be really good
if Microsoft would make it possible for anyone to attend a Microsoft Teams meeting, even if they could not initiate meetings.

If my understanding is erroneous, then I would dearly appreciate knowing that and being directed as to how I can join such meetings.
That is twice during this emergency that this has caused issues. Serious issues.
Keeping up with updates is a bit of an expense at this stage, when every penny should go to elder care

I am not asking for the latest and greatest software.
Just a way to be able to meet with systems that only use Teams

Had some trouble finding the right tags, nor would it allow me to create any - so hope those are OK

Thanks.

    Hi @Kiska, John ,

In my experience, you don’t need to install Teams client on your computer if you want to attend Teams meeting. If the meeting organizer shared meeting link with you, you can click the Teams meeting link and join it as a guest. After the organizer approved your request in the lobby, you can enjoy your meeting now.

For more details about how to join Teams meeting via link, you can refer to:

    Hello,

You can join Teams meeting directly in your browser, even if you don't have Teams client app installed. Simply click on the Teams meeting link and Join on the web instead and then you can join as a participant or guest.

You can also download Teams desktop app for Windows 10 from here:

    Regards.
