I have an issue when trying to sign in with my apple developer account on visual studio 2022 (v17.4.1). Firstly, I when trying to sign in as an 'individual account' I get this error ‘there was an error while loading your certificates: The Apple Developer Portal only supports Enterprise accounts. Remove your account and re-add it as an 'individual' account and then try again'. Secondly when when trying to sign in as an 'enterprise account' I get this error 'there was an error while trying to log in: Provide a properly configured and signed bearer token, and make sure that it has not expired learn more about generating tokens for API requests'.

Your Apple developer account is an Individual account, you have to generate an API Key, which is an Apple update.
About how to generate an API Key, you can follow the steps blew: Go to App Store Connect, click User and Access, go to Keys tab, choose App Store Connect API , then generate an API Key. After that, you can open VS and go to Tools-> Options-> Xamarin-> Apple Accounts -> Add-> Individual account, enter your API key.
(Note: Please be careful to save the downloaded key, it can only be downloaded once.)
For more details, you can see Creating API Keys for App Store Connect API on developer.apple.com.
After that, you can click View Details to load the certificates and Provisioning Profiles.

I have enrolled Apple Developer Program as Individual and already created API Keys, went through that whole process. But when I enter the API key details on Visual Studio I get an error message "There was an error while trying to log in: Provide a properly configured and signed bearer token, and make sure that it has not expired learn more about generating tokens for API requests."

You can check whether the issuer ID and Key ID are entered correctly, and check whether the API has been revoked on developer.apple.com. Furthermore, you could also try to generate a new API Key and check if this issue still exists. If you have any other issues, please feel free to let me know.
I just revoked the API key and generated a new one on https://developer.apple.com. And the same issue still exits.

The downloaded p8 file has been replaced, right? I did a test, but I still can't reproduce your issue. Could you describe more steps about how you generate the API Key and add the Individual account?
Yes, it has been replaced. Is there a specific folder where I should store the p8 file?
Steps followed: Logged in to Apple Developer Account, under Program Resources > App Store Connect, clicked User and Access, clicked on the Keys tab, chose App Store Connect API , then revoked all my previous API keys, then generated a new API Key, immediately downloaded and saved the p8 file (on my C: drive), also deleted all my previously saved p8 files (on my C: drive). After that, opened VS 2022 (v17.4.1) and went to Tools-> Options-> Xamarin-> Apple Accounts -> Add-> Individual account, entered my recently (active) generated API key details (attached the recently saved p8 file).
Then when I click Add that is when I get the above error message.
You don't have to set the p8 file into a specific folder, just make sure the p8 files are accessible.
I can get the same error when I enter the unmatched Issuer ID and Key ID, so I'm afraid the only thing I can suggest is that you double check the API information.
i just went through the entire process of revoking and generating a new API key and tried using the API key on VS 2022 (v17.4.1) Enterprise version and it works without any issues, but I still get the above mentioned error message when using VS 2022 (v17.4.1) Community version.

I ran into the same problem. Reason was a wrong issuer ID.
Issuer ID is also shown on the top of the Keys Tab

i checked my issuer id and it matches - still have same issue - but thank you for the additional information

For me I had the same issue, everything worked ok when I put in my own name of my account into visual studio instead of the name of the Api key.
can you specify which field you put your account name? i am having an impossible time figuring this out and getting it to work with my individual account
