Offline study

Question

Good day.

This might not be the right platform for the question, but I will be without internet connection for this month and would like to know if there is a way that I can still do my learning paths and study for my certifications offline?

As Microsoft does not authorize a partial or full reproduction/copy of its content, even if it is Online - Free for the users, it must be viewed, displayed and performed only from the platform created for this purpose. If someone print and copy the content from the modules, courses and online resources without Microsoft Learn's authorization, it is against copyright and intellectual property laws.

Based on this response, I'm confident that you cannot download the material. It is also wise to not download material as Microsoft is actively working to improve their training material.

Hi,

Which exam(s) are you wanting to study for while you are offline? I can point you to official Microsoft material that you could use offline. The learning paths aren't designed for offline use.

Official Practice Tests

There is a version of the official practice tests that allows you to download and doesn't expire, however, I'm not sure if they would actually function without Internet connection. I know for certain you would need to download/register them when connected to Internet. When you open MeasureUp's local program it wants you to first authenticate and sync before it allows you to launch your downloaded tests. With no Internet connection I'm afraid it wouldn't work, but haven't tested it.

If you're interested in the official practice tests I can dig up a code or two that will usually give you additional discount.

How can I study for certifications and learning paths offline?
Adding to what @Dillon Silzer has said, there is another option for offline study which I like to recommend as it works well as a study workflow regardless of whether you study online or offline: You can use the exam study guide to find documentation on the subjects covered and download that as a PDF.

The study guide (usually found in the tip section of the exam page) is the most exhaustive resource when it comes to preparing for exams and information found in the related documentation is usually key both to your success on the exam as well as with using Azure.

Admittedly this works better with more advanced exams where specific sections of the documentation are called out in the study guide but you'll still get value out of grabbing some PDFs and going through some of the content.
