Which API to use? You can call the system to open the specified file. I tried to use the call browser to open the full path (with file://) but some files open in a non-standard way (e.g., MP3 files won't play in win11).

The usual way is with ShellExecute(Ex) : Launching Applications (ShellExecute, ShellExecuteEx, SHELLEXECUTEINFO)

"open" is the verb, the second parameter of ShellExecute

"open" is open by default, for example (.txt I want to call the menu and select other application to open)

The Context Menu is IContextMenu2, or also SHOpenWithDialog
