Hi The open source Azure FHIR server: https://github.com/microsoft/fhir-server Does this support transaction type bundles. Because when I created a transaction type bundle resource and made a POST {{fhirUrl}} request, I am getting "405 method not allowed" as the response. (The same transaction bundle, I was successfully able to POST to Azure Health Data Service - FHIR service.) Kindly let me know if Azure FHIR server supports transaction type bundles. Thanks

We support transactions when the FHIR service is set to use SQL databases However, due to technical restrictions, transaction type bundles are not supported when the FHIR service is set to use Cosmos DB. Can you please tell us the reason for the technical restrictions why transaction type bundles are not supported when the FHIR service is set to use Cosmos DB.

Because in the Azure Health Data Services - FHIR service, even when DB is configured to Cosmos DB, transaction bundle is supported. Then why the same Cosmos DB is not supporting transaction bundles in Azure FHIR server?

P, Pioline (Cognizant) Thanks for getting back. Azure Health Data Services - FHIR service doesn't support selecting a backing database. All HDS FHIR services use SQL DBs, and all Azure API for FHIR services use Cosmos DBs. Support for transactions is only available for FHIR services using a SQL DB, which is why it isn't a supported feature in Azure API for FHIR.
