Technically this doesn't have a big impact, but if you work in a production environment you should enable it and avoid an uninvited legal trap.

Non activated windows is used only for individual use .it's not recommended for commercial and production use. That's because if an audit comes around and you fail to present software licensing information, you can end up in serious trouble.

Somes feature will not be available like :

• Cannot Receive windows update
• Cannot upgrade windows
• Get a reminder to activate Windows
• Cannot customise some feature like the operating system background
