Hi,

I see from the chart that although the connection was maintained, the bandwidth was dropping for more than 10 hours, as seen from the chart below.

The drop started 1pm and at 11pm began to slowly recover.

May I know if there was some maintenance / any other activity happening on 28 May?

    Hello @Iwan NUGRAHA ,

I understand that your Azure VPN connection dropped for more than 10 hours on 28th May, and you would like to know if there was some maintenance/any other activity happening at that time.

In the Azure Status history, I don't see any service issues that may have impacted Azure VPN connection on May 28th.

    https://azure.status.microsoft/status/history/

I also checked internally but couldn't find any similar reported issues.

Looking at the Bandwidth chart you shared, I noticed a drop, but it didn't reach zero. This might simply indicate that the traffic was slightly lower during that period.

I asked you if your customers or users reported downtime or connectivity issues during this period and you mentioned that there was no other issue with the VPN connection, but your customer reported that the traffic was unusual without much detail.

In case you would like to validate if there was any VPN disconnection or any gateway configuration events, primary changes, and maintenance events, then I would request you to check the Azure VPN Gateway diagnostic logs for more details, if configured.

You can check the GatewayDiagnosticLog and TunnelDiagnosticLog for 28th May during the time you noticed the VPN bandwidth drop.

GatewayDiagnosticLog - Contains diagnostic logs for gateway configuration events, primary changes, and maintenance events.

TunnelDiagnosticLog - Contains tunnel state change events. Tunnel connect/disconnect events have a summarized reason for the state change if applicable.

    Refer: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/vpn-gateway/troubleshoot-vpn-with-azure-diagnostics

To check the VPN logs, diagnostic log should be already configured on your VPN gateway as shown in the below document:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/vpn-gateway/troubleshoot-vpn-with-azure-diagnostics#setup

If diagnostic log is not configured yet, then I would request you to configure it and check the logs next time when some issue occurs to validate the events.

And if you want to check the May 28th logs but the diagnostic log is not configured yet on your VPN gateway, then the only option is to create a support request, so that the support team can access the backend logs and check for the events or issues, if any.

Kindly let us know if the above helps or you need further assistance on this issue.
