Problem pairing Mac M1 with Visual Studio on Windows

I'm running Visual Studio 17.10.1 as a virtual machine in VMware Fusion Player Version e.x.p. (22068932) on a MacBook Pro M1. When trying to pair Visual Studio with the Mac, I get this error message:

zsh:1: command not found: printenv

I have verified that I can ssh into the Mac from Windows and that the printenv command works in a terminal on the Mac.

Any suggestions for a fix?

    Hello,

    Thanks for your feedback.

Pair to Mac is a tool issue. For this issue, it is more recommended to report it as described in Report a problem with the Visual Studio product or installer . We will clear details to be able to reproduce and troubleshoot the problem. When you post it, please include version numbers, exact repro steps, and the difference between the expected behaviour and actual behaviour.

In addition, Xamarin support ended on May 1, 2024 for all Xamarin SDKs including Xamarin.Forms. For more information, please check: Xamarin official support policy | .NET (microsoft.com). We will recommend you upgrade Xamarin projects to . NET MAUI, please see the Upgrade from Xamarin to .NET & .NET MAUI documentation.

    Best Regards,

    Alec Liu.
