According to your description, you should be using Microsoft Excel client to open the file. I tested it, but the situation is different from yours. The file updates are autosave%20then%20AutoSave%20is%20disabled.)d to SharePoint, but OneDrive requires me to sync manually.
We recommend that you perform the following troubleshooting:
- Check the account in Microsoft Excel and delete unnecessary ones.
- Pause sync to OneDrive
- Open the file in the browser instead of the client
- If none of the above works, you can try resetting OneDrive
