How to download the content extracted from a document in a text/csv or pdf format?

Hey all,

I am using a sample pdf to extract text from documents. The document has handwritten, tick marks, scanned text and tables. As I run analysis, it is extracting all this information categorized as text, selection marks and tables. So, How can I download all this extracted content in a readable csv/text or a pdf format, for us to analyze this extracted content further?

If you want a CSV file, you can use Adobe Acrobat to export the extracted data:

Open your PDF file in Adobe Acrobat.

Go to Tools > Export PDF.

Choose the Excel format (.xlsx) from the dropdown menu.

Click “Export” and save the converted file.

Open the Excel file and save it as a CSV file.

Plain Text (TXT) Format

For plain text, you can use online tools like PDF Candy or FreeConvert. These tools extract text from PDFs and save it as plain text (TXT) files.

Custom Script (Advanced)

If you need more control, consider creating a custom JavaScript within Adobe Acrobat. The script can iterate through form fields, extract their names and values, and write them to a string in a tab-delimited format (which can be converted to CSV). Here’s a basic example to get you started:

Hey, I think you misunderstood my question. Document Intelligence Studio model is detecting the content. I want to download the content is detected.. and download it as a text or csv file.. I don't want to upload the document separately in Adobe because Document intelligence already extracted the content.

Hello @Sai Supriya Vadali , we received your feedback that the answer provided on the thread was not helpful.

Currently, document intelligence provides result in the JSON format only. This is a known behavior. The product team is aware of this and currently they do not have plans to add extracted data to CSV or Excel formats.

Most of the programming languages have JSON to CSV converters so, the temporary workaround is do post processing steps on your own.

Currently, we don't have any roadmap or ETA to share with you regarding this feature.
