Will MAUI ever support WebAuthenticator on Windows

I am trying to convert my app from Xamarin to MAUI. My Xamarin App is released on iOS, Android, and Windows.

It performs Authentication using WebAuthenticator. My Server back end supports Google, Apple, Facebook as well as several other OAuth logins.

As per the note on the microsoft site (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/maui/platform-integration/communication/authentication?view=net-maui-8.0&tabs=windows) WebAuthenticator isn't working for Windows.

With Xamarin out of support I am unable to release a fully supported app, since Authentication is critical to the app (and I assume most other non-trivial applications).

Is there a date/release when we can expect this to work. It has been in this state for almost a year.

This issue is discussed here.. https://github.com/microsoft/WindowsAppSDK/issues/441 but I was hoping to find a date when I could expect this to be supported.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your feedback.

Q&A is not a bug reporting or tracking system. For your question, it's more recommended that you ask the development team about a suitable update to this feature in an issue in WebAuthenticationBroker API that supports all WinAppSDK OS's and application types #441.

    Best Regards,

    Alec Liu.
